the Falkirk Wheel at Lock 16 there a number of quality pubs serving
bar meals or with comfortable restaurant facilities. The Union Inn (or
Auntie Katie's as its known locally) sits directly on Lock 16. The
Canal Inn (the 'War Office') is further along at Lock 15 and no more
than ten minutes walk is the Rosebank Beefeater Steak House or the
Copper Top restaurant - all of these establishments are highly
recommended.
Take a trip on the Wheel then catch the Shuttle
and sail along the canal for lunch and either take the 20 minute walk
back to the Park n' Ride for your bus or car (the exercise will offset
the large lunch) or return at your leisure using the Shuttle.
Lock
16 is in the centre of Camelon close to a mini shopping area and
there are a number of local pubs, restaurants, snack bars and other
facilities. The area is easily accessible and Lock 16 is only a few
minutes walk from Camelon Railway station, the Mariner Centre
(indoor swimming pool and leisure centre) and the Carmuirs Golf Club and local bus services into Falkirk
town itself (less than ten minutes by bus).
The Falkirk
area and the Millennium Link canals have a wealth of interesting
attractions and facilities on offer to entice you from the serenity of
the canal.

destination.
